Course Outline

This Real Estate short course is designed to equip learners with foundational Property Management knowledge and practical skills required to conduct real estate in NSW. This course allows individuals to progressively build competence while working toward the full CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate.   

  

Through a combination of theoretical learning and practical application, participants will develop skills in establishing and maintaining landlord and tenant relationships, managing tenancies, and administering trust accounts in compliance in accordance with the appropriate legislation. 

 

This course meets the NSW Fair Trading annual requirements for CPD for Assistant Agents progressing towards CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice.

Through interactive coursework and practical exercises, you will learn to:

    • Establish and maintain professional relationships with landlords and tenants. 

    • Manage tenancy agreements and day-to-day tenancy matters in accordance with relevant legislation. 

    • Conduct end-of-tenancy processes, including notices and final inspections. 

    • Accurately transact and record trust account activities.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible to enrol, learners must:  

    • Be 16+ years old
    • Basic literacy, numeracy & digital capability
    • Have or obtain a USI (Unique Student Identifier)
    • Access to a computer and internet, ability to upload documents/video etc.
    • All learners must complete a language, literacy, numeracy & digital (LLND) check prior to starting the course

Assessment Methods:

    • Quizzes, short-answer questions, research assignments, role plays, case studies, scenario tasks. More information on assessment can be found in the Student Handbook and in the Academic Schedules. 

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):

If you’ve completed relevant studies or have work experience in the field, you may be eligible for Credit Transfer or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). This means you could reduce the number of units you need to complete, saving time and effort while still achieving your qualification. These units form a structured portion of the full qualification, CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice, which enables learners to progress through the course in manageable stages. Successful completion of this short course will enable individuals to receive credit toward the full CPP41419 qualification. 

COMPLETION / CERTIFICATION

On successful completion of this skillset, you will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment (SoA) - issued by Brighten Institute Australia (RTO ID 41148) in: 

    • CPPREP4121 - Establish landlord relationships 
    • CPPREP4122 - Manage tenant relationships 
    • CPPREP4123 - Manage tenancy 
    • CPPREP4124 - End tenancy 
    • CPPREP4125 - Transact in trust accounts 

The units of competency listed above, are recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
