This qualification reflects the role of property industry professionals who apply advanced knowledge of agency operations, compliance, leadership, ethical practice and consumer protection to manage and oversee property services businesses. It is designed for experienced real estate professionals who are ready to take the next step into senior leadership and management roles. 

Throughout the course, you will develop the skills and knowledge required to lead teams, manage trust account practices, oversee agency compliance, develop business strategies, manage operational finances, and ensure ethical and professional standards are maintained across a property agency. The qualification prepares graduates for leadership positions such as Agency Manager, Licensee in Charge, Agency Director or Real Estate Agency Principal. 

In NSW, the Diploma of Property (Agency Management) is one of the educational requirements for obtaining a Class 1 Real Estate Agent Licence. To be eligible to apply, individuals must also satisfy the experience requirements prescribed by NSW Fair Trading, including a minimum of 24 months' experience working as a Class 2 Real Estate Agent. 

The qualification consists of 12 units of competency, including 7 core units and 5 elective units, providing the knowledge and skills required to successfully manage a modern real estate agency. 

This qualification is the primary educational requirement for individuals seeking to obtain a NSW Class 1 Real Estate Agent Licence. It is designed for experienced Class 2 Real Estate Agents who are ready to advance their careers into senior leadership and management roles within the property industry. 

The Diploma equips you with the skills and knowledge to manage the operations of a real estate agency, lead and supervise staff, oversee trust account management, ensure legislative compliance, develop business strategies, and maintain high ethical and professional standards. It provides the foundation for roles such as Licensee in Charge, Agency Manager, Agency Director, or operating your own real estate agency, subject to meeting NSW Fair Trading licensing requirements. 

Delivery Mode

• Online Self-Paced: Students complete the course independently through the online learning platform, progressing at their own pace within the course duration. Learning materials, assessments and support are available online.  
• Virtual (Trainer-Led): Students attend live online classes facilitated by a trainer using video conferencing software. Sessions include presentations, demonstrations, discussions and opportunities to ask questions in real time.  

To be eligible to enrol, learners must:  

• Be 18+ years old 

• Complete a basic language, literacy, numeracy & digital (LLND) capability assessment prior to starting the course 

• Have or obtain a USI (Unique Student Identifier) 

• Have access to a computer and internet, ability to upload documents/video etc. 

Various assessment methods will be used throughout your course, including:

• Knowledge Assessments: Written questions used to assess the learner's understanding of the required knowledge and legislation.  
• Practical Assessments: Workplace-based or simulated tasks that require learners to demonstrate the skills outlined in the unit.  
• Role Plays: Simulated scenarios where learners interact with clients, colleagues or stakeholders to demonstrate communication and professional skills.
• Case Studies: Realistic industry scenarios requiring learners to analyse information and apply legislative and procedural requirements.  
• Projects: Larger assessment activities that require learners to develop workplace documents, plans or strategies. 

If you have completed relevant training, hold formal qualifications, or have gained skills and knowledge through your work experience, you may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer (CT). These pathways recognise your existing competencies and may reduce the amount of training and assessment you need to complete, helping you save both time and money. What You’ll Learn

Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a CPP51122 Diploma of Property  (Agency Management) — a nationally accredited qualification issued by Brighten Institute Australia (RTO ID 41148). This certificate provides the educational foundation required to apply for your Class 1 Real Estate Agent Licence with NSW Fair Trading, enabling you operate or manage a real estate agency, act as a Licensee-in-Charge, and oversee real estate sales and property management services in NSW.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
