Course Overview
This qualification reflects the role of property services principals who apply knowledge of property agency and compliance requirements, ethical standards and consumer preferences to establish and control property services functions. Once the qualification has been obtained, including the completion of the work placement requirements, the individual is eligible to apply for their Class 1 Real Estate Licence with Fair Trading NSW.
Through hands-on learning and simulated industry experiences, this qualification equips you with leadership, compliance and operational skills required to manage a property agency the professional and ethical skills required to succeed as a real estate agent, property manager, or sales representative. Whether you’re looking to own your own real estate agency or progress your career by stepping into an agency leadership role, this qualification prepares you for senior positions such as Agency Manager, Agency Director, or Real Estate Agency Principal.
The Diploa of Property (Agency Management) – together with 24 months of working experience as a Class 2 Agent - is required to become a licenced Class 1 Agent in NSW. There are 12 units of competency in the qualification.

Modes of Delivery
Delivery Mode
- Blended: Due to the hybrid nature of this mode, students will have more flexibility to conduct the course at their own pace. Learners will have opportunities to attend online sessions, virtual classes & workshops to aid in training and assessment.
- Face-to-face/Zoom: This delivery mode offers structured learning through scheduled face-to-face sessions at our campus and/or live Zoom classes. Students will engage directly with trainers in real time, participate in guided classes, and receive ongoing support throughout their training and assessment.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible to enrol, learners must:
- Hold a current Class 2 Licence
- Be 18+ years old
- Complete a basic language, literacy, numeracy & digital (LLND) capability prior to starting the course
- Have or obtain a USI (Unique Student Identifier)
- Have access to a computer and internet, ability to upload documents/video etc.
Assessment Methods
Various assessment methods will be used throughout your course, including:

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) & Credit Transfer (CT)

Completion/Certification
Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a CPP51122 Diploma of Property (Agency Management) — a nationally accredited qualification issued by Brighten Institute Australia (RTO ID 41148). This certificate provides the educational foundation required to apply for your Class 1 Real Estate Agent Licence with NSW Fair Trading, enabling you operate or manage a real estate agency, act as a Licensee-in-Charge, and oversee real estate sales and property management services in NSW.
This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
After Completion
- You will receive your CPP51122 Diploma of Property (Agency Management) qualification.
- You become eligible to apply to NSW Fair Trading for a Class 1 Real Estate Licence.
