Course Outline

The White Card Course is a requirement to work within the Construction Industry in Australia. It covers the basic WHS knowledge required prior to safely commence work tasks within any of the building sectors. 

This White Card course is recognised in all states and territories. You do not need to retake the course if you move to a different state.  

MODES OF DELIVERY

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible to enrol, learners must:  

    • undertake an online LLN assessment prior to the commencement of the program 
    • be at least 14 years of age (upon commencement of training) 
    • provide 100 points of ID as evidence of identify. Please check the SafeWork NSW Evidence of Identity Sheet to confirm what you must bring to enrol in the course. If you do not bring the required valid identification on the day, you will not be able to commence training and no refund will be issued. All ID must be original and not certified copies. 

Exemptions for 100 points of ID include:

  • Overseas arrivals less than 6 weeks in Australia  
    • Passport AND 
    • Bank Card (overseas or Australian) OR Overseas Driver’s License 
  • Under 18 and High School Students 
    • Valid Australian Passport OR 
    • Australian birth Certificate OR 
    • School ID OR 
    • Letterhead from your school confirming your enrolment 

In these cases, one of the following is valid: 

    • Passport

UNITS OF COMPETENCY

This course consists of 1 unit of competency  

COMPLETION / CERTIFICATION

On successful completion of this unit, you will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment (SoA) in CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry. Additionally, you will receive a SoT (Statement of Training)  

SafeWork NSW will post the final White Card to the students' address, this normally can take up to 60 days.
