Course Outline
The Auctioneering skill set is designed for licensed real estate agents who are ready to elevate their careers by mastering the art and strategy of conducting property auctions.
Through a blend of theory and hands-on training, you’ll learn how to prepare and execute auctions, manage vendor and bidder communications, and ensure compliance with NSW legislation.
This nationally accredited program builds the confidence, stage presence, and technical understanding required to lead successful auctions and close deals with professionalism and impact.

Modes of Delivery
Delivery Mode
- Blended: Due to the hybrid nature of this mode, students will have more flexibility to conduct the course at their own pace. Learners will have opportunities to attend online sessions, virtual classes & workshops to aid in training and assessment.
- Face-to-face: This delivery mode offers structured learning through 4 scheduled sessions held either face-to-face at our campus and/or streamed live via Microsoft Teams. Students will engage directly with trainers in real time, participate in guided classes, and receive ongoing support throughout their training and assessment.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible to enrol, learners must:
- Be 16+ years old
- Complete a basic language, literacy, numeracy & digital (LLND) capability prior to starting the course
- Have or obtain a USI (Unique Student Identifier)
- Have access to a computer and internet, ability to upload documents/video etc.
Assessment Methods
Various assessment methods will be used throughout your course, including:
Case studies, role plays, assignments, scenario analysis.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
If you have relevant prior study, work experience, or training, you may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer (CT). These options can reduce the time and cost of your course by recognising skills and knowledge you’ve already gained. Our team will assess your eligibility and guide you through the application process.

Duration
- Blended: Average time taken to complete the course is 1 - 3 months, with a maximum of 6 months allowed.
- Face-to-face: 4 scheduled face-to-face sessions held either face-to-face at our campus and/or streamed live via Microsoft Teams. The maximum duration is 6 months.

- CPPREP4161 - Undertake pre-auction processes
- CPPREP4162 - Conduct and complete sale by auction
- CPPREP4163 - Complete post-auction process and contract execution
After Completion
After successfully completing this course, you’ll receive a Statement of Attainment in Auctioneering (CPPSS00068).
This credential enables you to apply for your Auctioneer Accreditation with NSW Fair Trading, allowing you to conduct property auctions as a licenced auctioneer in NSW.
Completion/Certification
On successful completion of this skillset, you will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment (SoA) issued by Brighten Institute Australia (RTO ID 41148) in:
- CPPREP4161 - Undertake pre-auction processes
- CPPREP4162 - Conduct and complete sale by auction
- CPPREP4163 - Complete post-auction process and contract execution
The units of competency within this skill set are recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
