Meets the NSW Fair Trading requirement to apply for a Certificate of Registration as an Assistant Agent.
Gives you the foundational real estate knowledge required to begin working as an Assistant Agent (under supervision).
Course Outline
The first step in becoming a real estate agent, this course consists of the 5 core Units of Competency of the full Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice qualification. Once the course is complete, the learner is eligible to apply for their Certificate of Registration, to become an Assistant Real Estate Agent.
Individuals at this skill level apply knowledge of real estate practice, legal agency, compliance requirements, ethical standards, and vendor / buyer relationships to conduct real estate functions.
This course is subsidised by the NSW Government.
Modes of Delivery
Delivery Mode
- Face-to-face: This delivery mode offers structured learning throughscheduled sessions held either face-to-face at our campus and/or streamed live via Microsoft Teams. Students will engage directly with trainers in real time, participate in guided classes, and receive ongoing support throughout their training and assessment.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to enrol, learners must:
- Be 15+ years old and no longer at high school
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder
- Be working or living in NSW.
- Have or obtain a USI (Unique Student Identifier)

This course is government funded under the Smart and Skilled program so there is no course fee.
Duration
- Face-to-face: This course will be delivered across the span on 10 weeks with 5 mandatory face-to-face sessions.

- CPPREP4001 – Prepare for professional practice in real estate
- CPPREP4002 – Access & interpret ethical practice
- CPPREP4003 – Access & interpret legislation
- CPPREP4004 – Establish marketing & communication profiles
- CPPREP4005 – Prepare to work in real estate trust accounts
Completion/Certification
On successful completion of this skillset, you will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment (SoA) issued by Brighten Institute Australia (RTO ID 41148) in:
- CPPREP4001 – Prepare for professional practice in real estate
- CPPREP4002 – Access & interpret ethical practice
- CPPREP4003 – Access & interpret legislation
- CPPREP4004 – Establish marketing & communication profiles
- CPPREP4005 – Prepare to work in real estate trust accounts
The units of competency within this skill set are recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
After Completion
You receive a Statement of Attainment.
Use this to apply to NSW Fair Trading for your Certificate of Registration. You can legally work as an Assistant Agent under supervision.
