Overview

RSA 

This course equips individuals with the skills and knowledge to practice responsible sale, service, or supply of alcohol. All staff of licensed premises in Australia who serve / supply / sell alcohol must have completed this nationally recognised Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) unit of competency.    

Permanent residents of NSW must complete an RSA course that has additional NSW-specific content. We do not offer the NSW-specific version of the RSA. 

RCG 

This course provides the skills and knowledge to responsibly provide gambling services and aid in the prevention of harm caused by problem gambling. In Australia, it is mandatory for staff at licensed premises providing gambling services, including those with gaming machines, to complete this nationally recognised unit of competency.  

PERMANENT RESIDENTS OF NSW should not complete this course if intending to work in NSW. Enrolment by NSW permanent residents prohibited: no refunds apply.   

Safe Food Handling 

This nationally accredited course (SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety) provides the knowledge and skills to work safely with food. In Australia, food safety training is mandatory for all roles involving the handling of food items; completion of this course enables learners to meet all mandatory training requirements.

WorkSmart Career Support 

This program is structured to equip participants with the essential skills and confidence necessary for steering their career paths to success. This program prepares participants for securing employment, and includes employment profile design and development, sessions on how to excel in an interview situation and other every-day professional interactions within an Australian workplace, and more. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no entry requirements for the course, however, you must have:  

    • A USI (Unique Student Identifier) number  
    • A valid and current email address 
    • Completed a LLN assessment (Language, Literacy & Numeracy test)  
    • Access to a reliable PC, laptop or tablet computer 
    • Access to a reliable internet connection and word processing software such as Microsoft Office suite 

COMPLETION / CERTIFICATION

Upon successful completion of this unit, you will be issued with a certificate of Completion for the WorkSmart Career Support Program and nationally recognised Statements of Attainment (SoA) in:  

    • SITHFAB021 Provide responsible service of alcohol.  
    • SITHGAM022 Provide responsible gambling services 
    • SIXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety 

These units of competency are recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.   

Renewal (R.S.A.): Statements of Attainment do not expire, but some state or territory liquor regulators may require RSA training to be renewed every 3–5 years. Check your local regulator’s website for further details. 

Renewal (RCG): An RCG Competency Card is valid for 5 years and can be renewed for another 5 years by completing online refresher training (received via a reminder notice) before the expiry date.
