SITHFAB021 Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol (R.S.A)

This course equips individuals with the skills and knowledge to practice responsible sale, service, or supply of alcohol. All staff of licensed premises in Australia who serve / supply / sell alcohol must have completed this nationally recognised Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) unit of competency.  

    • This RSA course is valid for work in QLD, WA, SA, NT, ACT and TAS.
    • Valid for work in NSW and VIC for individuals who have resided in corresponding states for less than five years. Valid for non-NSW permanent residents: completion of an additional course required.

 

SITSS00068 Food Handling

A set of skills to equip individuals for work in food handling to ensure food safety.

This Training Package provides a set of skills to work hygienically when handling food.

COURSE DURATION

This course can be completed in one week, however, learners will have up to 3 months to complete the course. Please see T&Cs for details of course completion and course access expiry.

MODE OF DELIVERY

This course is delivered 100% online. Learners may complete the course at their own pace, engaging with the content when they like and for as long as they choose. The course progress is saved, allowing learners to pause and return to their learning without losing any work.

LEARNING PATHWAYS

Achievement of this unit provides credit towards qualifications in tourism, travel, hospitality, events, holiday parks and resorts in the SIT Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package. 

RSA training is a mandatory licensing requirement for all roles involved with the sale, supply, and service of alcohol across Australia, in industries such as tourism, travel, hospitality, events, wineries, distilleries, packaged liquor delivery, and other industries involving alcohol sale and service. 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no entry requirements for the qualification, however, you must have: 

    • USI (Unique Student Identifier) number 
    • A valid and current email address
    • Completed a LLN assessment (Language, Literacy & Numeracy test) 
    • Have access to a reliable PC, laptop or tablet computer
    • Access to a reliable internet connection and word processing software such as Microsoft Office suite 

You must not be a permanent resident of NSW or VIC, or if you are, your period of permanent residency must be less than five years. 

UNITS OF COMPETENCY

To successfully accomplish this program, students must complete the following units of competency:  

COMPLETION / CERTIFICATION

On successful completion of this unit, you will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment (SoA) in SITHFAB021 Provide responsible service of alcohol and SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety. These units of competency are recognised  under the Australian Qualifications Framework. 

RENEWAL

Statements of Attainment issued for completion of nationally recognised training do not expire. However, some state / territory industry regulatory bodies may require RSA training to be renewed/refreshed after 3 – 5 years; please check the website of the liquor regulator in your State / Territory.
