Course Information

Mode of Study

Brighten Institute Australia understands the busy lifestyle of people choosing to study so that they can balance study, work and life. Students can choose to study one of two ways:

Online Learning

Students that select online learning commence on the date that they select for commencement on the Student Application Form. Online learning is flexible and self-paced to work around the student’s busy life and study schedule. Online learning is also supported with easy how to guides on Learnbook with direct IT support via email anytime or phone during business hours. Our supportive team will respond as soon as possible to ensure you experience seamless studies.

Blended Learning

Students that select blended delivery commence as per dates on the published Annual Academic Calendar or may request an alternative date on the Student Application Form.

Students will integrate online learning with face to face classes including lectures, group activities, role plays/practical demonstrations and presentations. The blended learning is designed to cater for differences in learning styles, learning interests and needs and variations in learning opportunities.

Students are expected to undertake reading and research activities through Learnbook prior to the delivery of face to face theory and practical classes.

Assessment Methods

Brighten Institute Australia understands the busy lifestyle of people choosing to study so thStudents are required to undertake a range of theoretical and practical assessments for each unit of competency. The methods of assessment will vary according to the requirements of the unit of competency and these include but are not limited to:

  • Quizzes
  • Written and oral knowledge tests
  • Essays
  • Case studies
  • Practical demonstrations
  • Presentations
  • Portfolios

At the commencement of each unit of competency, students are provided with assessment information that clearly outlines the assessment tasks to be completed including the criteria and due date for submission. Students that require reassessment will be required to pay a reassessment fee as per published Course Fees and Charges.

Learning Resources and Library Access

All students will be provided with essential learning and assessment resources required for their course through Learnbook, the online learning portal. As students will be using the online portal, students will need to have their own computer/laptop or have easy access to one.

To support additional research, students will complete the online application to join the City of Sydney Library Service through the online website access https://library.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/Montage/Join.aspx
